Regis Lebre

Regis Lebre, originally from Fortaleza, moved to Rio de Janeiro as a purple belt. In Rio he completed his journey to black belt under two of BJJ's greatest modern innovators, the legendary Royler Gracie and six times World Champion, Saulo Ribeiro.

John Disimone

John Disimone began his martial arts training at a young age. Dabbling in various striking arts for many years it was not until 1989 when he was introduced to Aikido. In the beginning of 1990 he began his training in Aikido within the International Fugakukai Aikido & Judo Association headed by Shihan Karl Geis. Due to the connection between Judo and Tomiki Ryu Aikido, John was introduced to Judo early on.

Since that time John has been awarded the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Judo and awarded the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) in Aikido. He is also a Certified Coach with the United States Judo Association (USJA) and holds the rank of Faixa Marron (brown belt) in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

John has recently been certified to teach Russian Kettlebells. Russian Kettlebell training is a wonderful strength and endurance fitness program ideal for competative athletes, especially grapplers.

John has been an active competitive athlete in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for several years and has competed on a local, regional, national and international level.


Ray Huxen

began his martial arts training after being present during an Aikido and Judo demonstration that was taking place coincidentally at the same time he was coming in to request information on the arts offered. That same evening Ray and his brother both signed up for Judo and Aikido within the International Fugakukai Aikido & Judo Association headed by Shihan Karl Geis. That was in 1994.

Since that time Ray has been awarded the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Judo and awarded the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Aikido. He is also a Certified Coach with the United States Judo Association (USJA) and holds the rank of Faixa Roxa (purple belt) in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Ray has been an active competitive athlete in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for several years and has competed on a local, regional, national and international level.

Art Bourgeau

The Philadelphia Judo Club was the first martial arts club in Philadlephia, established in 1949. In 1962 Sensei Takahiko Ishikawa moved from Japan to be the head instructor. Ishikawa was the youngest person to ever be awarded the rank of 9th degree black belt. He taught in Philadelphia for 13 years before moving out of the area. In 1982, Art Bourgeau, who began his Judo career with Ishikawa Sensei was passed the torch of the club. Since that time, Art Bourgeau has kept the spirit of the Philadelphia Judo Club and that of his teacher, Takahiko Ishikawa, alive.

Within Coach Bourgeau's 30 plus years of Judo, he has been awarded the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt). He is also a Certified Coach with the United States Judo Association (USJA) and was a regional rank examiner for many years. He has also produced several Judokas that have competed all over the world and have won numerous local, regional and national titles. Coach Bourgeau also studied Ki-Aikido with Shuji Maruyama for several years.


Craig Fingrutd

Since the age of 14 Mr.Fingrutd has been involved with football, martial arts, mountain biking, and many different ways to strengthen and condition his body, mind and spirit. In 1993 Mr. Fingrutd became a student and disciple of Steve Maxwell who is a Senior RKC Instructor. Since then he has trained with Steve in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kettlebells, Joint Mobility, Zhealth, Body Flow, Clubbells, and different workshops for strength and conditioning. Mr. Fingrutd became certified as an RKC instructor after training with kettlebells for over 4 years. Currently Mr. Fingrutd teaches Kettlebell classes at Maxercise and is available for both private and semi-private classes.


Steven Maxwell

Steve Maxwell has been in the Physical Fitness business for over 35 years. Mr. Maxwell has kept himself on the cutting edge of physical Fitness his entire life. Known for his Rambo Aerobics back in the 80's, Mr. Maxwell is always researching and learning the newest and sometimes the oldest methods of fitness and developing his own creative way to use them for maximum gain, whether it be for the coach potato wanting to lose a few ponds, law enforcement officers whose lives depend on their abilities or the elite athlete looking for the gold.

Steve Maxwell does private workshops for the nation's top military and law enforcement agencies and has received several awards from these agencies for his endless commitment to their physical fitness success. Mr. Maxwell is an accomplished 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and has won the World Championships on several occasions.

Mr. Maxwell teaches the morning and afternoon Kettlebell classes and is also available for private and semi-private classes and workshops. Please note that Mr. Maxwell's morning classes include 30 minutes of his famous Joint Mobility™
